Things I didn't know as a kid that I know now:
01. There's no guy who sits waiting to hand out horses and swords that you can go see when you want to become a knight.
02. Why so many boys spend so much time going after girls.
03. Growing up and being allowed to do what you want comes with a high price of duties and responsibility.
04. The point of seeing your friends when all you're going to do is sit around and talk to them.
05. How anyone could possibly sleep past 07:00.
06. Sometimes when people get hurt badly enough, even though they don't cry, something changes in them, and then they will never be the same ever again.
07. The ability to find your way around won't start appearing by itself as you grow older, and then be there one day when you're old enough.
08. In all likelihood, God does not exist.
09. The world is full of people who think their country is something special just because they happened to be born there.
10. How the hell a pawn could ever beat a knight.
11. Why getting out of a car at high speed would be dangerous.
Things I learned as a kid that turned out to be everlasting, inalienable truths:
01. Milk is good.
02. Sir Lancelot is a hero.
03. There's nothing wrong with being lazy.
04. Summer vacations are always too short.
05. A blizzard is a blessing in disguise if it means you won't make it to school.
06. Silver Fang teaches you most things you need to know about life.
07. Beer tastes really bad.
08. There's no real point to cleaning your room.
09. Computer- and videogames are educating in ways that people who don't play will never be able to grasp.
10. There's nothing inherently better with opera than with hard rock.
11. Alcohol in chocolate and as part of desserts is a nasty surprise.
12. Hard work is overrated, and though everyone will tell you the opposite, it's ok to procrastinate.
Things I didn't know as a kid that I still don't know:
01. What it means to be offside.
02. Whether or not there is life anywhere else in the Universe.
