Quick note: Today a three-hour power failure kicked in at around 21:00, and in spite of me enjoying brand new ADSL at the time, I found it exciting. Night is dark without streetlights. With candles being lit and lying-dormant old flashlights fed new batteries, it was like a small-scale disaster, bringing worried neighbours together.
With no computer, television, microwave oven or lights, options seem limited, and you are restrained to things like reading, lying down to think, going out to watch the stars, and telling stories.
